THE POSITION:
This is a part-time position. Selected candidate will work a fixed weekly schedule of 12 to 18 hours per week.

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be able to alphabetize with speed and accuracy; sort decimal numbers in the correct order; move a loaded book cart; and bend and reach to shelve books. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age, and those candidates under the age of 18 who are selected for this position must obtain a work permit. PLEASE NOTE: Meeting these posted qualifications does not necessarily guarantee an interview.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Shelves and/or sorts books, periodicals, and other library materials; maintains orderly appearance of facility by clearing tables of books and magazines, and replacing tables, chairs, and other materials periodically; performs routine shelf checks to ensure proper location of books, periodicals, and other library materials; empties book drops; may fill periodical back issue requests; answers directional questions; and performs related duties as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Tasks may involve frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and some lifting and carrying objects of moderate weight (12-20 pounds); pushing loaded, wheeled book carts of very heavy weight (100 - 150 pounds); and/or the operation of office equipment or keyboard, in which manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination are important ingredients of safe and/or productive operations. |
