THE POSITION:

This is a part-time (up to 18 hours) position. Selected candidates will work a fixed weekly schedule of between 12 to 18 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be able to move a loaded book cart, loaded book bins; and bend and reach to sort library materials. High School diploma or GED equivalency required. PLEASE NOTE: Meeting these posted qualifications does not necessarily guarantee an interview.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates sorting machine to distribute various materials such as mail, books, magazines, and tapes for the purpose of ensuring correct transport. Maintains required logs and records of activities. Maintains orderly appearance of facility by clearing boxes, debris, and book bins from work location. Performs minor maintenance tasks on sorting machine. Refers unusual situations to a superior and performs related duties as required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks may involve frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and some lifting and carrying objects of moderate weight (12 - 20 pounds); pushing loaded, wheeled book carts of very heavy weight (100 - 150 pounds); and/or the operation of office equipment or keyboard, in which manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination are important ingredients of safe and/or productive operations.
