'Understanding Our Families, Understanding Ourselves '
Many years ago, Ron Arons discovered he had an ancestor who served time in Sing Sing Prison. Years of additional research led to Ron's understanding of his ancestor's life in such detail, he was able to bring the relative back to life. Additionally, by exploring his ancestor's life in such detail, Ron was able to appreciate in more depth, events of his own childhood that took place in his grandparents' apartment in Brooklyn. For years, Ron has been joking to audiences that this has been 'extended psychotherapy.'
It's no joke. By looking at families at a 'systems' level, anyone can learn more about how everyone in the family, through multiple generations, has an impact on one another. This was formalized in different brands of family therapy theory decades ago. This October, join author Ron Arons, as he discusses the combination of in-depth genealogy (focusing in on one individual at a time rather than concentrating on locating names, dates, and places to grow a family tree) with an introduction to ‘family systems theory.’ Do you want to understand the why’s and how’s of your life and that of your relatives? If yes, then this talk is for you. For more information on Ron Arons, please visit www.ronarons.com.
