Author: Lamar Marchese

Photographer Lamar Marchese's Pow Wow portraits are large format digital photographs of the participants in the 2011 and 2012 Snow Mountain Pow Wow. Hosted by our local Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, this Annual pow wow, attracts tribal representatives from Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Southern California. The photographs are intended to capture the wonderous diversity of humanity and illustrates the joy and pride of Native Americans celebrating their colorful and vibrant culture. Lamar states that his primary focus in photography is on portraits. He feels the human face is the most fundamental and evocative image of humankind; the first visual feature infants recognize and the first place adults look to gain understanding.
