Join us as the Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids 2014 presents Kuhusiani - “Ordinary Hearts, Extraordinary Minds,” in honor of two great activists and humanitarians Dr. Maya Angelou and Nelson Mandela. This musical production delves into the minds of young people in search of civic engagement, social justice, and personal truths through the expressed visions of today’s youth dramatized by dance, music and spoken word based on their experiences.
The Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp for Kids (PVAC) provides community youth with pivotal opportunities for civil engagement and social justice projects through the disciplines of arts education. These talented young artist, ages 10-15 years, commit themselves to the philosophy, “Excellence Without Excuse,” while developing an appreciation for music, dance, theatre and spoken word. The goal of PVAC is to produce healthy and solid responsible citizens, with steadfast discipline, resiliency to manage emotional or physical growth, with the integrity and pride to become dynamic community ambassadors through cultural and performing arts.
