Clark County Library, in cooperation with Nevada Senior Services and Nevada State Department of Health & Human Services Division of Aging and Disabilities, is proud to announce a free Chronic Disease Self-Management Program developed by Stanford University School Of Medicine. If you are an adult living with a chronic disease such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, chronic pain or anxiety, or if you are a caregiver for someone suffering from a chronic condition, this certificate series of free workshops can help you.
In these workshops you will learn and utilize coping techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, pain, stress, depression and isolation; enhance skills to communicate effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; acquire nutrition information and develop step-by-step action plans; and implement decision making tools for daily healthy living.
Workshops are free admission, last 2.5 hours long and will be held every Tuesday at 1 p.m. February 18 - March 25. After the last class, graduating students will receive a certificate of completion. Textbook use will be provided or students may opt to buy their own copy. Space is limited- registration required. To register, please call 702-507-3458.
