Q: Where can I find magazines and newspapers for my school report?

A: Your library will have newspapers and magazines, but it's usually easier to find articles on a particular topic if you search a database from the Library's website.

Here are some databases that will have newspaper and magazine articles. You can search for your topic, and then select the articles you like best:

If you're in elementary school, you can find newspaper and magazine articles in
Kids InfoBits
Facts for Learning

If you're in middle school or high school, you can find newspaper and magazine articles in
InfoTrac Junior Edition
InfoTrac Student Edition
Student Resource Center Gold

If you're in High School or College, you can find newspaper and magazine articles in
Academic ASAP
InfoTrac Student Edition
IntoTrac OneFile
MAS Ultra School Edition
MasterFile Premier

There's a fast and easy way to search several databases at the same time. Click on Library CatalogLibrary District web site, then click on Go To Advanced Search. Scroll down to the alphabetic list of databases, and check off the databases you want to search. Then type your keyword or subject into the search box. It's also a great idea to check off "full text articles only", so you don't get "citation only" results. Then click "Go". The computer will search all the databases you've selected at the same time. A great time savings!
