“We know that the early years are critical times for learning and development, and we want all families to enjoy the fabulous learning opportunities at DISCOVERY Children’s Museum,” said President of the Foundation, Keiba Crear. “Our local families work so hard. This makes it easy for them to play and learn together.”

The Library District, museum, and Library Foundation have been working together to educate parents and caregivers on the critical brain-building period from children ages birth to five. In response to this, the Library District has significantly expanded the number and kinds of programs for infants and toddlers that are offered across the valley, from reading to crafts to science experiments. DISCOVERY Children’s Museum also offers a range of activities that ignite a life-long love of learning and the ability to explore, create and tinker with STEAM related hands-on activities. Through a variety of library and museum experiences, parents are able to get creative while preparing today’s youth for academic and real-life success.

The library, foundation and the museum have merged missions to focus on increasing early learning opportunities for 160,000 children, ages birth through five, who live in Clark County. National research from the Federal Reserve and other economic institutions points out that investment in young children has high returns for communities. With varied learning experiences early in life, children will master the tools that help them thrive academically, leading to tremendous long-term individual and community benefits.
