High School Equivalency (HSE)

High School Equivalency (HSE) testing provides adults with the opportunity to earn the Nevada Certificate of High School Equivalency. The certificate is widely recognized as the equivalent of a high school diploma. Nevada test-takers may choose from three approved HSE exams, the GED®, the HiSET®, or the TASC®, to validate their academic skills and knowledge. The Adult Learning Program offers the HiSET assessment.

Writing workshops are offered to adults needing to improve their written communication skills to take the HSE and to improve written communication skills in the workplace. Adults who need to improve their skills in writing are provided face-to-face instruction in an interactive environment.

Additional preparation for High School Equivalency assessments are offered through the Library District's online educational resources, which are free to all adult learners.

The  Adult Learning Program offers HiSET testing. After students pass all the HiSET tests, Nevada issues them with a high school equivalency certificate. Call 702-507-3464 or 702-507-3465 for more information on earning your HSE.

To get started, students MUST:

  1. Read state requirements and create a HiSET Test Taker account.
