A New Fall by Stephanie Serpick

Intimate paintings of unmade beds and tossed sheets. Depicting the empty bed as a personal space where one often weathers feelings of grief, depression, and isolation; Serpick also offers comfort in reminding viewers that feelings of suffering are universal among humans, so understanding and support is available.

Stephanie Serpick is a visual artist working primarily as a painter. She received her MFA from the University of Chicago, and her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions in the U.S. and internationally. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
