Inside Out: 11M

East Las Vegas Library is the newest site of Inside Out 11M, which is part of a nationwide, participatory art initiative launched by world-renowned artist JR to create a portrait of America that includes immigrants and the descendants of immigrants alike. On September 4th and 5th, 2021, the project photographed community members on location at the library and posted their images on the facade of the building. The project is on a national, 16-city tour, including Phoenix, Detroit, Denver, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Over the past decade, more than 400,000 people spanning 138 countries have participated in the Inside Out Project.

On view at East Las Vegas Library from September 4 through October 4, 2021.
