Shinoid: Ocean of Stories

Shinoid's paintings are hybrids of gestural/expressionistic movements and biomorphic forms. Trained in biological science and self-taught in art, Shinoid's paintings are often whimsical and emotive. The artist is interested in engaging people with beauty at the in-between places that have blurred or merged boundaries -- such as between nature and the man-made, or between what we remember and what we imagine.

"I want the viewers to feel a sense of wonder when looking at my paintings. I invite them to be curious and to daydream."

In this exhibition inspired by nature, biology, geometry, and inquiries on the human mind, the viewer can step out of the everyday world, connect with the magical or the mystical, and tap into memories from both one’s consciousness and subconscious. Each painting is a dreamy world of unrecognizable familiarity and distant intimacy that evokes emotions with organic but undefined forms.
