When will the Library District reopen?

All 25 Library District branches are currently closed until further notice to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please check back to the home page of this website, and to this blog, for updates on when our branches will be reopened. You can also get our latest updates by following @LVCCLD on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Can I pick up my holds?

Since all of our branches are closed until further notice, you will not be able to pick up your holds at this time.  We will continue to maintain the holds list and will pick up where we left off on all holds once the Library District reopens.  Your items will be waiting for you at that time!

What about Interlibrary Loans?                                                                        

We are maintaining the holds lists for these as well, and we will pick up where we left off once we reopen. If we have received your item, it will be available for you to pick up at that time.  If you have ILL books that are checked out, please do NOT return them during our closure. If you return them once we reopen, you will NOT be charged any late fees.  If you have any further questions or concerns, you can contact and we will try to get back to you as soon as we can. 

Can I return my books? I don’t want any late fees!

Please do NOT return the items that you have currently checked out from the Library District collection.  Hold on to them for now. If you return them once we reopen, you will NOT be charged any late fees.

Will Hotspots and iPads continue to work during this time?

Yes, these items have been extended. All currently checked out Hotspots and iPads will continue to function during the Library District closure. Please return them as soon as we reopen.

My card is not allowing me access to your online resources.  Who do I contact?

If you are having issues trying to access our online services using your Library District card, please email your account information to and our administrative team will be happy to help you.

Can you increase the number of digital checkouts on Hoopla and Kanopy?

Yes, during this public health crisis, we are working to provide our valued customers with as many resources as possible. Toward this goal, Hoopla is permitting us to increase their checkout limit from 10 to 20!  Kanopy has also made collections available for unlimited viewing that will not count against your monthly checkout limit.

I have tickets for a scheduled performance at the library? Who do I contact for a refund?

The Library District works with many organizations that rent out our spaces for their performances.  Some have already rescheduled their events for later in the year.  You will need to contact the organization directly for refund inquiries and updated information on their performances.
