Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Launches #GetCarded Library Card Design Contest

Clark County Residents: Unleash Your Inner Artist!

LAS VEGAS – For the first time ever, Clark County residents of all ages are invited to participate in the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s #GetCarded Library Card Design Contest. Entries are being accepted through Sept. 30 and kids, teens, and adults are encouraged to create an original drawing or design that reflects what the library means to them. Complete rules and entry packets are available in all local Library District branches or by downloading at www.thelibrarydistrict.org/contest/.

The winning artwork will be used to create a new 2017-2018 library card for the District.

“This contest marks the beginning of an exciting and more interactive chapter for us,” said Ron Heezen, executive director of Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. “This is your library – a community resource and a place that nurtures creativity. So please show us what the library means to you! We hope this theme will inspire our neighbors to develop a one-of-a-kind library card design.”

Completed entries must be scanned and emailed to contest@thelibrarydistrict.org by midnight Sept. 30, 2017, or delivered to any District branch by close of business on Sept. 30. Following the entry deadline, finalists will be selected by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District judging panel and will be posted to Facebook in October for public voting. To vote, please visit the Facebook page of any LVCCLD branch or the Library District’s main Facebook page.
Entry packets are available for download at www.thelibrarydistrict.org/contest/, or can be picked up from any Las Vegas-Clark County Library District branch. For a full list of branch locations, hours and Facebook pages, visit www.thelibrarydistrict.org/about/locations.cfm.
Participants are encouraged to post their creations on their own social media channels with the hashtag #GetCarded and tag Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (@LVCCLD). Entries will be judged on their merit. Final winner(s) will be selected based in part on the Facebook voting results and at the sole discretion and judgment of the District’s Judging Panel to comply with branding guidelines.
Winner(s) of the District’s Library Card Design Contest will be announced in October.
