Teen Tech Labs

With 77% of jobs in 2020 requiring tech skills, the Foundation has created a number of programs that build youth skills in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). DJ labs, digital media production projects, maker spaces, bitLabs, coding camps and the Best Buy Teen Tech Center invite engagement in technologies to bridge the digital divide and accelerate youth progress toward lucrative careers and employment.

The Library District operates several teen tech labs that give tweens and teens access to new technologies related to media and music production, coding, robotics, and other maker projects.  The following teen tech labs are open, based on social distancing capacity:

COX Teen STEAM LAB at Enterprise Library
8310 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Las Vegas NV 89123

Open to youth ages 12-17 during regular library hours to use and explore the following:

  • 3D printers
  • Homework help laptops
  • Chromebooks, IMac, PC
  • Printers (including large format)
  • Cameras
  • Addi Knitting Machine
  • Music (software & physical resources)
  • Filmmaking (software & physical resources)
  • Button Press

Classes in 3D printing are available as well as Tween/Teen Thursdays where youth can learn a variety of digital skills along with take and make projects. The DJ Lab remains closed at this time.


Robot LAB at East Las Vegas Library

Sponsored by NV Energy and Union Pacific, the Robot LAB is open to all ages by appointment, Tuesday to Thursday, noon to 7:30 p.m. as well as Friday and Saturday, noon to 7:30 p.m. The lab can accommodate two to three patrons at a time and is offering music production, video editing, graphic design, green screen use, and sound booth use.

Open to youth 12 to 17 years old, Monday through Thursday, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., Fridays from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Teens and tweens can grab a snack or stock up on school supplies at Food and Stuff Pantry as well as have full use of the following equipment:

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Dell All In One touch screen computers
  • 3D printing
  • Large format printer
  • STEAM gaming cafe
  • Knitting Machine
